Sew your own vintage-style framed handbag with this digital download, a PDF sewing pattern that you can download and print from your home computer.
The Lyla May Handbag is a throwback to the frame purse handbags of a previous era. Available in multiple sizes, you can make this purse as a small bag for just the essentials or full sized shoulder bag. There is an optional zippered divider pocket and slip pockets on the inside. Feel classy with the Lyla May Handbag over your arm!
The sewing is suitable for a confident beginner, but the frame makes this an intermediate bag. There are instructions on altering the pattern to work with the dimensions of other frames.

You will receive three files:
1. The first is the A4/letter file with pattern instructions. This pattern includes 31 pages of instructions, with detailed diagrams and links to a video tutorial. There are 56 total pages of the printable pattern, but only the pages for your size need to be printed. A cut chart and pattern pieces are included for rectangle pieces. Pattern instructions are given in both inches and centimeters. This can be printed on Letter or A4 paper.
2. The second file is an A0/copyshop file meant to be printed at a copy shop or on a large format printer. This is three pages. There is a print release on that file in the bottom left corner.
3. The third file is a Projector file. An increasing number of people are utilizing projectors for sewing. This file includes several layers with a 1” and 4 cm grid each on their own layer and each size on a layer. There are also inverted layers, which have a black background and white lines and work better on certain fabrics. The exterior, lining and interfacing, and interlining pieces are each on their own page.
The A0 and Projector files were included April 2023. If you purchased the pattern before this, contact me to receive the new files.
